PROGRAMM
Die PHOTO EDITION BERLIN ist ein international ausgerichtete Plattform und Online-Shop für Fotografie in Berlin. Seit der Eröffnung im Jahr 2008 hat sich das Profil stetig entwickelt und zählt heute zu den renommiertesten Adressen künstlerischer Fotografie in Deutschland. Wir präsentieren Positionen zeitgenössischer internationaler Fotografie ab den 1950er Jahren. Ein spezieller Fokus liegt dabei auf der „Konkreten und Generativen Fotografie“, Positionen aus Deutschland, China, Iberoamerika und der tschechischen Avantgarde ab den 1920er Jahren.
Von uns erschienene Bücher und Kataloge sind begleitende Publikationen zu Ausstellungen. Wir sind als internationale Kuratoren tätig und haben in den letzten Jahren unsere eigene Sammlung von Fotografie stets erweitert. Wir beraten Museen, private wie öffentliche Institutionen und Sammlungen mit unserer Expertise. Mitglied bei der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh).
PROGRAMM
PHOTO EDITION BERLIN is an internationally oriented platform and online shop for photography in Berlin. Since its opening in 2008, its profile has steadily developed and today it is one of the most renowned addresses for artistic photography in Germany. We present positions of contemporary international photography from the 1950s onwards. A special focus is on "Concrete and Generative Photography", positions from Germany, China, Ibero-America and the Czech avant-garde from the 1920s onwards.
Books and catalogues published by us are accompanying publications to exhibitions. We are active as international curators and have constantly expanded our own collection of photography in recent years. We advise museums, private and public institutions and collections with our expertise. Member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh).
KONKRETE UND GENERATIVE FOTOGRAFIE
Konkrete Fotografie kann als eigene Gattung der Konkreten Künste aufgefasst werden. Sie tritt damit neben entsprechende Erscheinungsformen wie Konkrete Malerei, Konkrete Musik oder Konkrete Poesie. Gleichermaßen ist sie Teilgebiet der allgemeinen Fotografie. Konkrete Fotografien stellen einen eigenen Beitrag zur Kunst- und Fotografiegeschichte dar. Ihre Entwicklung beginnt um 1900 und ist bis heute nicht abgeschlossen.
CONCRETE AND GENERATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
Concrete Photography can be regarded as an own genre within Concrete Art. As such it appears alongside other related modes of artistic expression like Concrete Painting, Concrete Music or Concrete Poetry. At the same time, it is a branch of photography. Concrete Photography is its very own contribution to the history of art and photography. Its history begins around 1900 but by no means has it stopped evolving.

POSITIONS FROM GERMANY
Under this program, the Photo Edition Berlin shows different authors who have performed in West and East Germany. Documentary photography, conceptual or camera-less photography can be found here in a dialog, which shows the wide range of German photography at an international level.

TSCHECHISCHE AVANTGARDE 1920 BIS HEUTE
In dem Programm Czech Fundamental wird ein Dialog herbeigeführt zwischen der Avantgarde tschechischer Fotografie der 1920er bis 1950er Jahre und einer Auswahl von Fotografien zeitgenössischer tschechischer Künstler. Ob Surrealismus, Montage oder andere Formen der Avantgardefotografie, Realismus oder klassischer Bildreportage - in allen Richtungen waren und sind tschechische Fotografen kunsthistorisch führend vertreten.
CZECH FUNDAMENTAL
World-renowned photographic works by the Czech avant-garde of the 1920s, contrasted with the work of the most original contemporary artists from the late 20th century – this was the exhibition Czech Fundamental, which opened at the Museo di Roma Trastevere in the summer of 2015, and had its first show at PHOTO EDITION BERLIN in 2013.
